New
Banner Option Available
You asked for it--and we did it! Freeservers
is pleased to announce a new option for
banner ads on your site: pop-up windows.
Instead of the banner bar appearing in your
Web page, you can choose to have it appear
in a pop-up window. (Of course, if you like
the way our current banner bar integrates
with your site, nothing will change.)
To
change to the pop-up banner option, all
you need is a small piece of HTML code.
Simply place the code "<!--show_popup_ad-->"
in the HTML in the page(s) you want changed.
If you use frames for your site, this code
only needs to be placed in the main frameset
page. To return to using the normal banner
bar, simply remove the code from your page.

you want to eliminate all banners on your

FTP
Login Change Now in Effect
As explained in previous newsletters, the
"user name" for your FTP login is
now your domain name. This change officially
took place when we moved our system to our
new servers. If you are having problems connecting
to your site through FTP, make sure your settings
are as follows:
Host
address: your domain.com (not ftp.yourdomain.com)
User name: your domain.com
Password: your community password
Port: 21
Directory: / (or leave blank)
After changing your settings, if you still
have problems, please
click here to submit a support request
and include the following information: (1)
any errors you are encountering, (2) the information
you using to connect (host address, user name,
password), (3) the program you are using.

Up Your Site!
We
cannot remind you enough that if your Web
site is important to you, you should back
up your site to protect against possible disk
errors or other problems. Freeservers makes
a tremendous effort to protect your site against
data loss, but we cannot guarantee that no
